Craven County Schools Welcomes New Assistant Principal

On Tuesday, December 14th, the Board of Education approved Mr. Derrell Ward as the new assistant principal at Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary School.
Mr. Ward has been a passionate educator for the past nine years. He started as a substitute and later became a Teacher Assistant (TA) and CTE Teacher for Pitt County Schools. He was the TA of the year in 2014 and the Teacher of the Year for 2021 in Pitt County. Mr. Ward also served as an advisor, mentor, department chair, and more in his tenure as an educator. A father of three children and husband of one lovely wife, he is excited to be a part of the Craven County community and is hopeful that this year and years to come will be successful and great.
