HJM News Week of Oct 21-25

Here are the announcements for the Week of Oct. 21-25:

The first 9 weeks is winding down! The first grading period ends on Tuesday, October 29. Please make sure you encourage your child to submit all assignments and make up work to their teachers before this day. Once the grading period ends, the grade book is closed for the first 9 weeks. If you have concerns, please reach out to your child's teacher to have those concerns addressed. Please do not wait until the report card comes home to have conversations about your child's academic or behavioral progress at H.J.

There is a "Pawsitive" PTO meeting scheduled for Monday, October 21 at 5:30 -6:30 in the HJM Media Center. The office of Vice President will be voted on at this meeting. If you are interested in being a candidate to serve HJM in this capacity, please email so that your name can be added to the ballot.

It's Pumpkin Bowl Spirit Week at HJM!! Our Student Council has worked hard to create daily themes for our students and staff to enjoy. Please visit the HJM FaceBook page or the HJM School website to see a complete listing of the daily themes.

Parents, please remind your child to only use their phone during designated times. It is considered insubordination if your child is seen interacting with their phone during unauthorized times. Repeated acts of insubordination may result in ISS or your child's phone being confiscated. Help us keep your child focused on learning while in school.

Finally, now that cooler weather has arrived, so has the arrival of cooler weather clothing. Students are not allowed to wear hoods inside the building. This is for safety reasons. We must be able to clearly identify students in the halls at all times. Wearing hoods makes this difficult.
