Hello everyone, my name is Sarah Newsome and I'll be teaching 6th grade ELA here at H.J. MacDonald Middle School. I recently moved back to the US and am excited to start teaching here. 

I'll be using this page to help communicate important dates, schedules, and expectations throughout the 2023-2024 school year.

A little about me, I completed my BA in International Affairs at Temple University's Japan Campus in Tokyo. I lived there for about 12 years with stints in Mexico City and Frankfurt, Germany as well. I have family here in New Bern and am excited to begin my next stage as a teacher here in Eastern North Carolina.
