Hi! My name is Lara Nelson and this is my 13 year teaching Exceptional Children. I graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a B.A. in Sociology and Minors in Psychology and American Studies, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Teaching (Special Education). I then went on to earn my Master's in Special Education from Saint Mary's University of MN online.

I live in New Bern with my toddler son and enjoy spending time with loved ones. My hobbies include cooking, going to the pool and beach, and decorating. I'm looking forward to a challenging yet successful and AWESOME school year at JWS. Go Blue Jays!
