Hello, my name is Ms. Rebecca Blackmon. I am the new school counselor at J.T. Barber Elementary School. I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology from Oakwood College (now University). I have lived in North Carolina since 2002. I earned a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Kentucky. After several years of state employment, I decided to follow my heart and become an educator. For the last 12 years, I have worked as an Exceptional Children's Teacher. I am very excited for this new opportunity to work with all the students, families, and staff of JTB!
