Welcome to our classroom! I am so happy we will share the year together! Our classroom theme is "Slothie's Seashell Cove!" You will notice sloths and beach-themed things in all of our correspondence and around our room! Having a theme helps to make our room a special place to be. I am excited about beginning my 1st year at Graham A. Barden Elementary. My family and I recently relocated from the Annapolis, Maryland area. I am an experienced teacher who has taught grades K-3. I love creating a classroom where the children feel safe, happy, use their creativity, and are eager to discover and learn! 

I am married to Jack and we have two children, Nickolas and Katia. Nickolas is in graduate school at the University of Delaware studying plant sciences and Katia is a sophomore at Wingate University near Charlotte studying elementary education. She swims for their swim team also. Our other family members are a Pomsky dog named Keonna and a cat named Blue.  We love to go for walks, to visit the beach, and to travel.

Kindergarten is a wonderful year of so much growth and change for your child. Learning to read, write, and use math thinking will be our focus! Working in groups, problem solving, and learning to use polite manners are incorporated daily too. It will be a wonderful year together!
