Welcome back to Grover for your 7th grade year.  This is my 2nd year at Grover after spending the last 3 years at HJ MacDonald!!

About me....Born and raised in NC. Attended UNCW where I graduated with a B.S. in Marine Biology and I also played baseball there.  I married my wife Paula in 2011 and we moved to Pennsylvania just outside Philly.  3 years later, we moved to central Minnesota for 5 years.  It is Minnesota, where I got my teaching degree from St. Cloud State University and began teaching.  Finally, in 2019, we moved back to NC and ended up in New Bern.  She is an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant in the Emergency Department at Carolina East, the hospital in New Bern.  We have 4 children. Noah is 9 (and a half he says), Allie is 7, Emma is 4 and a half, and Lauren is 2 years old.  We are a busy household and my students will definitely hear funny stories about my children from time to time.

Science will be taught by the semester this year.  You will have 2 quarters of Science and 2 quarters of Social Studies.  This means we will take content that is normally taught in a year and condense it down into 2 quarters.  Buckle up and get ready because the pace will be faster than normal.  I encourage you to stay connected by talking with me and communicating through email, remind, or Google Voice.

Science this year is split into 3 sections.  Earth Science consists of Earth’s atmosphere and weather.  Physical science consists of force, motion, speed, and types of energy.  Will will finish the course with Life Science, which will have cells, protists, the amazing human body, and genetics.
