Hello and welcome to my page. This is my first year at NBHS, but I am not new to Craven County Schools as I previously taught 7th grade ELA and AVID at Grover C. Fields Middle School. I will miss being a GCF Grizzy, but I am thrilled to be a NBHS Bear! 

I have been married for over 21 years and have two amazing children, one of whom recently became a NBHS alum.

I went to Meredith College, where I received a B.A. in English and Religion. After my undergraduate studies, I went to East Carolina University to pursue a Graduate Certificate, where I focused on Multicultural and Transnational Literature, which really means Foreign Literature Translated into English. 

I enjoy spening time with my family and friends, traveling, running and reading. 

I am looking forward digging into American Literature with you. Our studies will span from the Colonial period through the Modernist period with a few stops along the way.
