I am so excited to be back with the Tucker Creek Family on the 6th grade team teaching my favorite subjects, ELA and Social Studies! I bring 6 ½  years of teaching experience (1 ½ previously here in NC). My Bachelor’s Degree is from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA with a double major in Psychology and Political Science and my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education is from the State University of New York at Cortland.

I am a proud Navy Chaplain wife to Derek, who is currently serving aboard the U.S.S. Wasp (LHD1) in Norfolk, VA. We have lived in MI, NY, WI, IA, NC, and VA throughout our 22 years of marriage with our three extremely active and creative children. Noah (17, Senior) and Micah (16, Junior) are fondly referred to as our “Sons of Thunder”. They march brass for the HHS Marching Rams, swim competitively, and enjoy engineering, motors, and robotics. Our “Little Bird”, Jenna (11, 6th grade), loves visual arts and volleyball. We also have two Golden Doodles, Lambeau and Frodo.

When I am not in the classroom, you’ll find me volunteering as a Band Mom or cheering in the stands. I am a huge fan of superheroes (especially Marvel), Harry Potter, and Star Wars. If I have any free time, I enjoy crafting, traveling, and relaxing at the beach. I am a Certified SKYWARN Storm Spotter and find severe weather exciting. 

I look forward to teaming with all the great families in this school community as we “make our mark” on this coming school year!
