Welcome to 5th Grade ELA & Social Studies! 

Hello, my name is Kelly Squires. I am the 5th Grade English and Social Studies teacher at Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary! I am so excited to be your teacher this year and learn new things together. This year is going to be filled with fun activities and the exploration of new ideas!

A Little About Me

I am originally from Mt. Airy, Maryland and moved to North Carolina when I was still in high school. I fell in love with the beaches and the people here and decided to make New Bern my home. I attended East Carolina University where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, grades K-6, with my Concentration in Reading, grades K-12. Before teaching elementary school, I taught preschool in New Bern for fourteen years and loved working with children and seeing them explore the world with wonder and curiosity!
