Havelock HS Grading Scale
Daily Warm Ups 10%
Be PROMPT. School tardy and attendance policies are enforced and to be respected.
Be PREPARED. Have all classroom materials ready to go each day.
Be POLITE. Respect each other, raise your hand, and do not be disruptive in class.
Make Up Policy
YOU are responsible for getting work on the days you missed. “I was not here” is not an excuse if you do not collect your make up work. If you know in advance that you will be absent, be proactive and ask for work ahead of time. Unexcused absences will result in a zero for the day’s work.
Classwork: I do not accept late work unless you have a VALID excuse (“I forgot” does not count as valid). Work returned after the due date will be deducted 10 points a day up until 7 school days. After 7 school days have been given you will not be allowed to turn in that assignment. You will receive a 0.
Tests/Quizzes: You have 3 days after the last day of absence to make up a test. I am flexible to meet before or after school.
Sabdo Cheating Policy: Cheating is defined as “giving or receiving of unauthorized aid.” Plagiarism is defined as “taking and using the ideas or writings of another as one’s own.” Cheating and plagiarism are very serious offenses. Any student found guilty of cheating and/or plagiarizing on any school assignment will receive partial credit grade of a 40 if they choose to complete the alternative assignment. Students who choose not to complete the alternative assignment will be awarded a grade of a zero. Students found guilty of cheating and/or plagiarizing may be disqualified from being considered for membership in any club or organization based on the respective club/organization policies or bylaws. If currently a member, the student may be dismissed from any club or organization based on the respective club/organization policies or bylaws concerning the academic honor code.
It is the responsibility of the student to do his or her own work. Even if working together, your work must be in your own words. All projects or papers require a Works Cited page. Students caught cheating or plagiarizing will receive a zero AND an office referral. School rules for plagiarism (including suspension) will be applied.
