Mrs. Anja Costello
My name is Anja Costello and this is my second year teaching fourth grade at Graham A. Barden. Besides being blessed enough to teach amazing fourth graders, I also have CDA in Early Childhood Development.
I was born and raised in south eastern Ohio. If you have heard of Kings Island, you were a hop, skip, and a jump from my tiny hometown of approximately 3000 people. I originally went to school at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) where I began studying anthropology. From there I moved to Hawaii and that began my hopping about and living in some wonderful places all over the country.
I am a mother to two wonderful adult children. My son still lives nearby and my daughter lives in Massachusetts. I have three cats that have claimed me to be their human. Two years ago I married the most amazing man in Scotland. He usually makes an appearance in the classroom to discuss how Scotland had many immigrants move to North Carolina when it was still a colony. The students love him and always have questions about his kilt.
My students often refer to me as Ms. Unicorn because they know it is my nickname and my hair changes colors quite often. When I am not in the classroom (virtually or physically), I love doing art. I love to travel and take photos along the way. If I am can stay awake after a long day at school, I love to curl up with a good book.
Please have a look around because I will have links, tutorials, and other information that may be useful to you. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email, call, or send me a message on DOJO if I am blessed enough to have your child in my class.
