Hello there, Wildcat families! My name is Mel Mullaney, and I am a 7th grade ELA teacher here at WCMS. The 2022-2023 school year marks my fourth full year of teaching. During the 2018-2019 school year, I was an intern at WCMS in the 6th grade. From 2019-2021, I was up in 8th grade, and in 2021-2022, I did my first year of 7th grade. I am back "in the middle of the middle" this year with a strong return to 7th! Let's go!

I graduated from California State University San Marcos in 2008 with my BA in Literature & Writing. In 2016, I made the (best) decision to return to school to obtain my teaching certification at East Carolina University. I can honestly say that I wake up every day excited to go to work. I was made for this.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my spouse and two daughters (the oldest of which is in . . . you guessed it . . . 7th grade!). I also love to lift, run, play my ukulele, and (of course) READ!
