Hi and WELCOME! My favorite things to do are to teach children and work with teachers and that's exactly what I get to do each day at Brinson Memorial Elementary School as the MCL, or Multi Classroom Leader. This is my first year as an MCL, but it is my 35th year in education. I love my job and I plan to work as long as I am given the privilege to do so. I began my career in Edgecombe County where I taught 4th, 5th and 6th graders during the 5 years I was employed there. I met my husband while working in Edgecombe County and after we were married, we moved to New Bern. My next school system was Craven County Schools where I worked for four years at Arthur W. Edwards. While there, I taught 5th grade, 2nd grade, and Title I reading with first grade students. Then came the birth of our first son and I took a leave of absence. I just couldn't leave that beautiful baby boy! About two years later came baby boy number 2! When I went back to work, I worked as a part-time Title I teacher for about 11 years at Fred A. Anderson Elementary School in Pamlico County. My husband got a wonderful job offer and we moved to Roanoke Rapids, NC, where we lived for another 11 years. This is where I began working full-time again and I served K-5 students as a Title I teacher. At the end of the 11 wonderful years in Roanoke Rapids, it was my husband's new job offer that brought us back to New Bern. It was wonderful to come back "home" to where we began our married life. I worked for 3 years at Arapahoe Charter School as, you guessed it, a Title I teacher. Finally, in 2018 I was offered a job at BME as a Title I teacher. It has been a wonderful journey and I am so glad to be serving the students and teachers at BME as their Multi Classroom Leader.
