Hello, I am Ms. Wickman and I am very excited to be your child’s first grade teacher.  Welcome to a very important year of your child’s school career! First grade is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning.

This is a year of important transitions, as well as, one in which acquisition of new skills is accelerated.  First graders develop fundamental work habits, appropriate social behavior, problem solving, decision making and foundational academic skills.

I look forward to helping your child become active learners.  We will work hard to meet the individual needs of every child in our classroom.
