Mrs. Catherine Alligood

I am excited to begin my fourth year as principal of Bangert Elementary. My family and I have lived in Trent Woods for almost 23 years, and we have loved it here.  My husband, Dwayne, and I have two daughters, both of whom are products of Craven County Schools.  Before becoming an administrator, I was a science teacher.  I have taught at Pamlico County High School, Carroll Middle School in Wake County, and at Trent Park Elementary here in Craven County.  I served as a STEM Project Manager for Craven County Schools, and prior to coming to Bangert I was the Assistant Principal at Ben D. Quinn Elementary.

Bangert is a wonderful neighborhood school, and this year we will continue the many fabulous traditions that make Bangert a top school.  At Bangert we value our partnership with the Trent Woods community, and we know that our many partnerships makes us stronger.  Our goal is to give every student a complete education. At Bangert we take very seriously our vision, “Experiencing Success…  Everyone, Every Day!”  We see success all around us, and we take joy in celebrating it.  Come join us!

Please contact me if you have questions or concerns.  I will be very happy to talk with you.

Ms. Candice Strickland

My name is Candice Strickland and I’m thrilled to become a member of The AH Bangert Team!

I am a Craven County native and currently reside in Vanceboro, NC. I earned my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University and my Master’s of Leadership at Gardner Webb University. I began my career in education at Chocowinity Primary School in Beaufort County and continued to teach for 7 years. Once I completed my Master’s degree in the summer of 2015, I advanced during the fall of that year to become the Assistant Principal at Northeast Elementary School and then moved on to my current position at Bath Elementary.

As I’m ending my 12th year in education, I’m looking forward to my next chapter with Craven County Schools. As your new Assistant Principal, I look forward to creating and building positive relationships with the students, staff, and parents of Bangert Elementary. Along with Mrs. Alligood, I will strive to provide assistance and support, promote an engaging learning environment, continue to learn and grow, and support an enjoyable school environment.
