Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Diane Bondurant
Welcome to Room 402 at James W. Smith. I am very excited about the 2020-2021 school year as I embark on my 11th year with the staff, students and community of JWS! I have been working in the EC Classroom for 1 1/2 years. We work hard every day to grow greatness. Our class motto is "to be stronger than the storm". I was born and raised on a farm in Virginia. I completed my undergraduate study at Longwood University in Virginia. I have a Master’s Degree from Eastern Carolina University. I met and married my husband in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. We relocated to the mountains of West Virginia before moving to NC in 2001 to enjoy the natural beauty of the ocean a little more. I live in the small town of Bridgeton with my husband of 31 years. We have raised three talented daughters and now have two amazing granddaughters Caiden Rose and Luna Elizabeth. We do have a household full of teachers! Mr. B has spent many years in education as well. He has been a school counselor and now can be found at Craven Community College in the Advising Department. Our youngest daughter, River is a Spanish Professor at Lenoir Community College. Our middle daughter, Sierra is a nurse at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Our oldest daughter Bethany, taught Theatre, English and AVID at WCHS before moving this year to Colorado to continue teaching there. When not at school, the B's love to be outdoors and spend a great deal of time hiking in the mountains, camping in the ocean dunes and soaking up the beauty of our backyard pond with our poodle "Waffles", Yorkie "Oliver", 20 slider turtles and a bunch of bullfrogs!
