Mission Statement
The purpose of the Craven County Schools Finance Department is to provide leadership and model excellence in the areas of financial management.  This will include providing accurate and timely information to all stakeholders to allow for effective decision making in support of our district's mission and goals, while ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws as well as board policies.  We will practice ethical leadership by montoring our financial resources, safeguarding confidential information and seeking continuous improvement in business practices. 

Vision Statement

The Financial Services vision is to provide excellent customer service and careful oversight of all financial matters pertaining to Craven County School System.

Financial functions include payroll preparation and processing, accounts payable processing, production of annual budget documents, periodic financial reporting, management of all employee benefits, monitoring of school activity accounts including internal audits, and all financial services for construction projects including debt service.

  The Craven County Schools annual budget will be developed in alignment with the goals of the vision for public education in Craven County to challenge all students to imagine and create a successful life.

  Craven County Schools finance staff will monitor all local, state, federal and grant funds to ensure sound financial managment and stewardship and information to promote and facilitate community engagement with the goals for the public education in Craven County.
