Mrs. Regina Jones

I am Mrs. Jones. It's nice to meet you virtually! I teach English I-IV.  Like you, I am a proud product of the Craven County Schools System.

I began teaching in 1995, and my entire teaching career has been with the Craven County School System. I have taught at New Bern High School, H.J. MacDonald Middle School, and now West Craven High School, which I love (no disrespect to the Bears).

I am proud of the direction our school system has taken over the years. I love that we are always collectively evolving and seeking new innovative approaches to learning. I am genuinely passionate about teaching and am fortunate to be able to do a job that I love.

Additionally, I am married to Tom H. Jones, and we have three adult daughters: Kristen, Latasha, and Shanice. We have four grandchildren, Aidan, Cassidy, Caleb, and Callie.  My husband and I reside in New Bern with our dog,  Nano.

My Vision:  Every student will take responsibility for his or her education.  He or she will learn to persevere academic and personal challenges to create high standards for themselves and continue to strive for maximum academic and personal growth and excellence.

My Mission:  Every student will have the opportunity to discover and acknowledge their strengths and talents. Every student will be empowered to use their strengths and skills to acquire information, identify problems,  use questions to seek a more profound understanding to determine or create solutions. Every student will improve his or her ability to read, analyze, cite, and write. My greatest hope is that when we part, every student will have a curiosity that cannot be quenched and an abiding love of learning that will last throughout his or her lifetime.
