I grew up in Bath, NC and graduated from Bath High School. As soon as I graduated, I enrolled at Pitt Community College. I received two associates degrees, one in computer programming and the other in business administration. I entered the business world as client accounting coordinator for a large law firm. I always had several students that attended Craven Community College employed in my evening shift and welcomed students to job shadow each year. I decided to go back to college to pursue my real passion - teaching. While working on my degree, I worked as the Purchasing Agent at the Craven County Board of Education. I continued my education by receiving a master's degree in School Counseling. I completed my internship working with the students at New Bern High School. The last two years I have taught Keyboarding, Business Documents, and Career Exploration to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at H.J. MacDonald Middle School. I am excited to work with students this year at NBHS to help students find their place in the world of work and determine the best way to accomplish that goal.
