After graduating from Appalachian State University, Mrs. Whitford began her career in 2004 at Havelock High School as the Associate Director of Music.  While teaching in Havelock she received her National Board Certification in Early Adolescence/Young Adulthood Music. In 2009, Mrs. Whitford became the new Director of Bands at H.J. MacDonald Middle School. In 2014 she earned her Masters of Music from East Carolina University. She is married to Ashley Whitford and they are currently enjoying life in New Bern with their daughter Amelia and dog Basil.
