Hello

Welcome to my 6th grade class.  I hope that you are as excited about this upcoming year as I am.  This will be my 6th year teaching here at Tucker Creek Middle School and my 17th year in the teaching profession.  I love teaching Math.  Numbers are my love, words.... not so much.  I know this year is going to be interesting with all the changes, but I am very excited about being able to teach your students.

I received my undergrad at the University of Tampa with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  I then got my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Mathematics from the University of Phoenix.   

I have a handsome little boy.  His name is Drake, he will be going into 6th grade this year at Tucker Creek.  It is amazing how fast they really grow.  He is extremely excited.  He keeps me very busy playing soccer with Havelock Soccer Association.  We love going to the beach and going to the movies.  Drake is full of energy and loves to be around people.  When I have downtime, I enjoy a great murder mystery.  It has to be a page-turner in order for me to stay hooked.  We have a year-and-a-half-old cat named Smokey.  He is the cutest little crazy cat.

I moved to New Bern back in 2011 but then shortly after moving here, I moved back to Tampa for a short period to continue teaching.  I moved back to Havelock in 2013 and have been here ever since.  I was hired in 6th grade and have loved every single second of it.  I wouldn't change it for the world.  I taught at HJ MacDonald Middle School for 6 years.  While teaching at HJ, I was a Learning Focus Classroom and a Math Leader in the school, as well as a cabinet and teacher leader in the school.  Since moving to Tucker Creek I have been the Teacher Ambassador 2020-2021, served as Math Goal Team Leader, and 6th Grade House Leader.  This year I will also be the Athletic Director, so if your student plans on playing sports, I am sure we will be seeing each other.

Again, I am excited about this upcoming year and I EXPECT it to be my best year so far!!!
