This school year will be my 23rd year in the education field. I began my career in 2001, teaching 6th grade at Arapahoe Charter School. In the next few years, I spent time in the classroom with 3rd-5th graders in Carteret County. In 2005, I moved to Craven County and joined the staff at Brinson Memorial teaching 5th grade. At that time, I finished my Master of Library Science Degree and accepted the position as Media Coordinator at the new school being opened in the county, Creekside Elementary. In 2010 I became National Board Certified and renewed that certificate in 2019. In 2022, I obtained my Master of School Administration degree.

This year I am excited about starting a new journey at HJ MacDonald Middle School. I will be serving the staff and students as the School Climate, Culture, and Behavioral Specialist. I look forward to working with the Warcubs of HJM. 

During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, Tony, and Avery, and I enjoy scrapbooking, baking, reading, and watching my daughter play softball!
