Ms. Smith
Amanda Smith is the freshman and sophomore English teacher, Service-Learning Coordinator, Junior Civitan advisor, CEC Runs/WoD club advisor, and co-advisor for yoga club at Craven Early College.
Service is a major theme in her classroom. As such, her students organize and participate in several service projects each semester to benefit our school family and the community as a whole. Here at CEC, English II Honors has been both a stand-alone course, integrated course with American History I/II, and integrated with Biology, so students should expect some days to cross curriculums.

Before moving to New Bern she previously earned her BA in English and teaching license from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington as a North Carolina Teacher Fellow. She has taught English I/I Honors, English II Honors, English III/III Honors, and worked with AP Literature and Occupational English courses.
____
Outside the classroom, she spends time volunteering locally, practicing on the yoga mat, climbing in the aerial studio, and occasionally doing the Metcon in the CrossFit box.
