Welcome! My name is Candace Salen and I was born and raised in New Jersey.  I moved to New Bern about 16 years ago.  I am an East Carolina University graduate (Go Pirates!) and married to my high school sweetheart.  

We have three beautiful children, Zachary (13), Alexis (10), and Everleigh (4 months).  Some other members of our family are furry and lovable.  We have a cat (Skylar), an active K9 dog (Ax), 5 year old dog (Lacie) and a few fish!  We enjoy spending time with family and friends and you can find us on the ballfields most evenings!  

This will be my 16th year teaching!  I have taught 3rd grade for 6 years and this will be my 10th year teaching 2nd.  Second grade is where my heart is and I can not wait to share my passion with your child.  They will become part of our family and will always hold a place in my heart!  I can't wait to take this journey with your family!
