5th Grade ELA & Social Studies

Hi, My name is Michele Owens and I am very excited to meet our fifth grade students.I graduated from the University of South Carolina, “Go Gamecocks!” and met my husband of 20 years while attending USC. We have three children, Leverett jr, Walker, Mary Evans, and a sweet dog, named Beau.

I have been a school teacher for 21 years. I taught 7th and 8th grade in Columbia and Sumter, South Carolina, and HJ MacDonald Middle School. I taught five years at Brinson, before coming to Ben D. Quinn Elementary.

I love teaching school and the upper elementary grades have been my favorite. It is important to me that my classroom, virtual or in school, is warm and inviting and that my students are excited about learning.
