I am beginning my 28th year in North Carolina's public schools.  My classroom experiences range from kindergarten to adults.  For almost 10 years, I was the Adult Educator at our district's Family Literacy site at James W. Smith Elementary. I am now the Family Literacy Specialist for the program.  I spend my time at the Family Literacy sites at James W. Smith, Vanceboro Farm Life, and JT Barber Elementary Schools.

I am originally from Pennsylvania, but I have been living in North Carolina since 1996.  New Bern is home for my two children, Jackson and Zoey, and me.  Jackson is a first-year student at Appalachian State University and Zoey is at New Bern High and in 10th grade.  We enjoy spending our time together at the beach, the mountains and with our dog, Scully.
