WCH Media Center
The Media Center will be utilized by all students and faculty as a space to learn, collaborate, and teach.
The West Craven High Media Center will value, support, and enhance learning and instructional opportunities for students and educators by providing inviting spaces and relevant resources that facilitate their academic and professional success.
Students and educators are encouraged to utilize the Media Center during the school day and by appointment before or after regular school hours as a collaborative area for learning, teaching, and participation in extracurricular and civic endeavors. The Media Center is centrally located within the building and houses a genrefied book collection for check out, a mobile Chromebook lab, study hall reserve room, two collaboratory areas with Apple Tv or ClearTouch screen, and a large area for instruction and cooperative learning. Craven County School’s 1:1 iPad initiative is managed from here as well. The Media Center will be open during Eagle Hour as a quiet, learning space and for students participating in the following clubs: Battle of the Books, Robotics, Book Club, Student Council, Gaming Club, Reading & Research 101 and for students working on iPad projects.
Proper personal conduct and adherence to digital citizenship guidelines is necessary to maintain your Media Center as an inviting learning space for everyone, and appropriate behavior is expected.
