Are you looking for a way to contribute to the community?

Consider mentoring a student, volunteering your time at a local school, connecting your business or community group with one of our Craven County schools, or donating to the school district.

Craven County Schools welcomes individuals looking to make a positive contribution in the life of a child by serving as a mentor. Mentors agree to a 30 minute per week commitment during the school year that takes place at the student's school. Individuals and businesses can volunteer to mentor students, and many mentors provide academic support and tutoring to their mentees.

Volunteers help in the classroom, library, with special events, and anywhere they are needed at all Craven County schools. To get started, contact the school nearest you and offer your services. All volunteers must pass a background check.  Fill out the application located on our district website.

If you pass the background check, you will receive a follow-up email for more information. If you do not pass the background check, you will receive a letter by mail notifying you of this along with various helpful resources.

Should you have any questions about your background check, please contact BIB at 877-439-3900.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Craven County Schools! Your contributions are invaluable!
