Mrs. Jodi Elbing

Mrs. Jodi Elbing is a native of Tucson, AZ and has been in North Carolina for the past 20 years.  Mrs. Elbing now resides in New Bern, NC.  She graduated from East Carolina University with a BM in Music Education.  The 2019-2020 school will mark her 11th year of teaching where this is her sixth at Grover C. Fields.  She had taught as an associate director at Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, NC for two years.  Although she has been trained to play all instruments, Mrs. Elbing's main instrument for the past 21 years has been the clarinet where she still performs in local concerts and musicals.  She is an active member for the North Carolina Band Association for the eastern district, a member of the National Association for Music Education and was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honor Music Fraternity.  She is married to Mr. Elbing, director of bands at New Bern High School and is also one of the two feeder band programs for New Bern High.  They have a son named Daniel and  two furry children named Lucky and Charms.  Together they hope to share their love of music and educate students into future leaders
