My name is Claire Davis.  This is my 18th year of teaching!  During my career I've had the privilege of teaching almost every grade in elementary school- K, 1, 3, 4, and 5.  This is my second year teaching 1st grade at J. T. Barber. My husband and I moved to New Bern last year.  I am originally from Greenville, NC, and worked as a teacher in Pitt County for 14 years.  I taught in Florida for 2 years at the beginning of my teaching career, from 2006-2008.

I received my undergraduate and Master's degrees from ECU in Elementary Education.  I also have my Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) certification for grades K-12 and my Teaching Reading certification for grades K-12.

I absolutely love teaching!  I look forward to learning and growing with your child and getting to know your family.  Working together, we can ensure your child's success and personal growth.

We are so lucky to also have an amazing instructional assistant, Hermione Sampson, working in our classroom as well.  She is an integral part of our classroom family.
