Ms. Susan French
My name is Susan French and I am a 24 year veteran teacher. I am a native of Craven County and attended Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary School, West Craven Middle School and West Craven High School during my own educational career. In 1996, I received my BS in Education with a mathematics minor from East Cariolina University. In 2009, I received my Masters in Instructional Technology also from East Carolina University. I taught 8 years at Arthur W. Edwards Elementary School in Havelock, NC where I taught 2nd and 1st grade. In 2004, I transferred to Bridgeton Elementary School. I have taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade and am currently one of the Title 1 School Instructional Leader.
It is my honor to serve Bridgeton Elementary School as one of the Title 1 Interventionist. My role as the SIL is to serve all teachers and students by enhancing and supporting academics needs in reading and math. My daily schedule includes supporting small group instructional needs for students, co-teaching opportunities with regular classroom teachers, academic planning and support with core teachers, facilitating and monitoring data analysis discussions to create pathways to success for all students.
The BES Title 1 program provides opportunities for parents to become involved in student learning and educational needs. Parent Academies and Family Curriculum Nights are created to engage and support family needs in understanding educational grade level expectations and outcomes. The BES Family Resource Center is available for families to receive engaging, hands-on activities to supoort academic needs, increased family time and understanding of special needs for students.
