BS in Child Study MAED Middle Grades Math Nationally Board Certified Teacher

Mrs. Chrissy French

Hello! My name is Chrissy French. The 2020-2021 school year is my 21st year teaching and my 16th year with Bridgeton Elementary School.  I have taught in a variety of settings including Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade and as a Title I teacher. Now I am embarking on a new adventure as the First Grade Craven Live teacher.
In 1995 I graduated from Colby-Sawyer College, in New Hampshire, with a Bachelor's Degree in Child Study. I also received my Teaching Certificate at the same time. I later went on to receive my Reading Certification and a Master's Degree in Math Education from East Carolina University in 2009. The following year I gained my National Boards Certification as well.  I feel so blessed to be able to use all that I have learned to help your child become the best First Grader they can be!
As you can tell from where I went to college, I'm not originally from around these parts.  I was born and raised in Massachusetts.  My mother is originally from Havelock, NC. So, when my father retired they decided to move down south and my mother came 'home again.' I decided to follow them down after I graduated.  It was the best decision I have ever made! A few years later I met my husband, Allen French, who is a hometown boy. Allen was born and raised and has lived all his life right here in Bridgeton.  It has become my home as well.
We have two children. Travis, who is 26 years old and a graduate at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Kathryn is 22 years old and is a Senior at East Carolina University. Travis is living and working in Charlotte, NC. Kathryn is working part time at a chiropractic office and at REALO in Bridgeton. And she still finds time to be an excellent student. We are so proud of the wonderful young adults that they have become.
I hope this helps you get to know me a little bit.  I look forward to getting to know you all a little better as well!
