Craven County’s Autism Team serves as a resource to all of our students, teachers and families in Craven County Schools. Our goal is to provide ongoing training and assistance with implementation of evidence-based practices to help ensure students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder develop intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially, and vocationally. Our team provides universal, tailored, and customized support through professional learning, coaching, consulting, and supporting development and implementation of individualized education programs. The assessment, development and implementation of these supports is in direct alignment with NC DPI and IDEA guidelines, ensuring an appropriate education within our student’s least restrictive environments. As we foster independence for a successful future outside of school, our collaborative, multidisciplinary team of professionals includes administrators, EC teachers, Speech/Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, School Psychologists, and an Autism Specialist.
