Hi! My name is Mrs. Witten and I am so excited to be part of the second grade team at Ben D. Quinn!  Most importantly, I am THRILLED to be YOUR teacher! It’s going to be a fun year filled with lots of learning and new adventures!  I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us. I can’t wait to know ALL about you!

Here are a few things about me…

I was born and raised in Grifton, NC.  I have two sisters and I am the youngest. When I graduated from High School, I attended ECU and majored in Elementary Education with a concentration in Science and Reading. I went back a few years later and earned a Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education.  In addition to 2^nd grade, I teach college math classes.

I am very happy to be starting my 21^st year of teaching and my 3^rd year teaching 2^nd grade! I have taught 5^th grade , 7^th grade, 3^rd grade, and 1^st grade before

moving to my favorite grade of all…SECOND GRADE!

I am happily married and our daughter, Avery, is in first grade here at BDQ.  I LOVE animals and science and spend a lot of time learning about both topics.  I enjoy reading and was happy to be able to read a lot of books this summer!  I love to sing and act in shows at our local theater.  I have a lot of pets that you will learn about throughout the year – you will even get to meet some of them! This is going to be the best year ever!
