Pre-Kindergarten

Craven County Schools offers an Inclusive Pre-Kindergarten Program. It is funded through the state NC Pre-Kindergarten, federal Title 1, the Exceptional Childrens Preschool Program, and our local Craven Smart Start. Pre-K is offered at no cost to eligible families. All children must be determined eligible according to the pre-kindergarten program guidelines. Children must be 4 years old on or before August 31st of the current year and children may have an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
The program is located in several of our elementary schools, local Head Start sites, and private child care centers.

You may register using our online application. It is currently available. You will need to include the birth certificate and proof of family income with the application. The Pre-K application may be accessed using the Student Registration button on the page for the 2023-2024 school year.
**Families only need to register your 4 year old one time, either at the in-person event or with the on-line application.
