Ms. Ashleigh Jernigan
Hello! Welcome to the webpage for me, Ms. Ashleigh Jernigan!
I was born and raised in the Charlotte, NC area. I attended Queens University of Charlotte for two and half years, majoring in history, before taking a break. When I decided to return to school and finish my degree, I transferred to BYU-ID. There I majored in geology, minoring in history and English, and getting my degree in 2015. Shortly afterward, I moved back to NC and enrolled at UNCC to get my Comprehensive Science Education Certification. And, I have been teaching ever since (and absolutely LOVE what I do). I spent the last three years teaching for Cabarrus County Schools, before moving to the Havelock area this summer to join the Ram Fam.
I am incredibly excited to be here, to get to know another group of amazing young people, and to share my great love to the sciences with them. This year I will be teaching Phyiscal Science and Earth and Environmental Science. So, as we delve into the realm of the wonderful, fantastic, and phemonenal world of exporing the beautiful blue and green ball that we call home and the inner-workings of the universe in which it sits, I hope that you will have loads of fun and maybe even learn something too.
If you need anything at any time, please reach out to me and let me know. Here on this page you will find, among other helpful things, links to my Canvas courses, my syllabi, the playlist for each week, which will serve as a weekly agenda of sorts.
So, let's hold onto our noses and have a grand adventure. We have totally got this!
