Hello! My name is Heather Berkey and I am a third grade teacher at Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary School. I attended East Carolina University, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (K-6) with a concentration in Reading (K-12). I am a proud ECU alumni and thankful that I was able to go after my dream to become a teacher. I have been married to my best friend for more than twelve years now and I have two amazing children. 

Everyday is a day that is open to opportunities. I love spontaneity and that is among one of my favorite things about my career. A classroom should be a place where children don't have to shut out who they are but able to learn how to build their individuality. I am passionate about inspiring children to become the best versions of themselves and fulfilling their dreams.
