• Mission:  

    The district Office of Testing and Accountability (OTA) will provide accurate and reliable accountability and testing services for all stakeholders. 

    The Office of Testing and Acccountability coordinates the division’s preparation, administration, interpretation, and communication of student assessments. The office ensures full compliance with federal, state, and local testing expectations while striving to cultivate positive and purposeful assessment experiences for Craven County students, parents, teachers, and school leaders.

    The OTA office goals are to provide support and services to the Craven County Schools community:

    Goal #1 Policy

    • Develop processes, timelines, and documents essential to the effective implementation of required federal, state, and local testing

    Goal #2 Training

    • Provide trarining to school test coordinators in accountability, testing procedures, test security, accomodations, and online test management systems used by NCDPI and other vendors

    Goal #3 Test Materials

    • Maintain inventory of secure test materials
    • Accurately prepare and package test materials for a secure and timely distribution
    • Accurately collect all secure test materials after each test cycle

    Goal #4 Testing

    • Ensure all testing is conducted in a positive, fair, and ethical manner to yield valid results
    • Ensure the NC Testing Code of Ethics and all state and vendor assessment guidelines are followed
    • Report any test irregularities to NCDPI

    Goal #5 Data Analysis and Reports

    • Accurately scan and securely download online test results to generate appropriate initial reports
    • Prepare and compile accurate reports and charts for district, school, and public stakeholdiers
