Mr. David Spence
A native of Virginia and a graduate of Virginia Tech, Mr. Spence has lived in New Bern and taught at New Bern High School since 1995. He has taught ninth through twelfth grade English, specializing in English II. He also teaches AP English Literature and Composition and is a member of the AVID team at New Bern Hgh School. Mr. Spence loves literature and believes in the power of reading and writing to transform our lives. He also believes that every student deserves the opportunity to engage in rigorous and and challenging educational experiences, and he strives to create a classroom where all students can succeed and thrive. Parents are essential to a student's academic success. Therefore, Mr. Spence welcomes parent input and involvement, so please feel free to contact him.
